Turkey Places Forty-Seven Universities in Global University Rankings

(MENAFN) A total of 47 universities from Türkiye have secured positions in this year’s global Best Universities in the World list, highlighting the country’s growing presence in higher education rankings.

According to reports, the ranking assessed more than 21,000 universities across 95 countries and ultimately published a list of the top 2,000 institutions worldwide. The evaluation was based on seven indicators grouped into four main areas: education quality, employability outcomes, faculty strength, and research performance.

Among Turkish institutions, Hacettepe University achieved the highest national position, ranking 666th globally. It was followed closely by Istanbul University at 707, Ankara University at 733, and Middle East Technical University (METU) at 736.

Other notable entries include Bogazici University ranked 785, Istanbul Technical University at 813, Marmara University at 939, and Koc University at 989.

Further down the list, several other Turkish universities also appeared within the top 2,000, including Ege University (1,052), Cukurova University (1,106), Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa (1,127), Bilkent University (1,140), and Gazi University (1,151).

Additional Turkish institutions featured in the ranking include Yildiz Technical University at 1,191, Dokuz Eylul University at 1,206, Erciyes University at 1,265, Gaziantep University at 1,289, and Ataturk University at 1,351.

Overall, the results reflect a broad distribution of Turkish universities across the global top 2,000, with strong representation across multiple cities and academic institutions.
